For a girl who is tired of going out on Friday nights, watching one or two light romantic movies is a great way to spend the big nights.
I chose a German movie this Friday--"Rabbit without Ears." In fact, the title sounds more like the name of a war movie to me. Far from it, it is a corny romance story-- a nice simple girl won the heart of a playboy who was unable never commit to a relationship. During the process, inevitably, the girl's heart was broken in pieces by the playboy's cold harsh reject. But, in the end, the guy finally came to his sense and won back the heartbrokn girl.
Immediately, I can cite an example of this formula I came cross recently-- "He is not that into you", the movie. There must be numerous examples if I look hard.
So, why do women like a story of conquering a playboy? Must the true love be fought for? And the love would be more valuable when the woman converts a non-believer? Why do the movies end at the happy together moment? What will happen after?
The true reasons, I deduced, are that similar to religion, stories of miracles are required to convince people to believe in love and by converting a playboy, a woman not only can show she is a firm believer of love and the special one different from other women.
Sadly, in real life, miracles happen but not as often as in the movies.
